Safety on AFGLinked
How AFGLinked handles verification, reporting and blocking — and how to spot scams before they cost you.
What the verified badge means
A verified badge means a person on our team reviewed evidence that the name and, where relevant, the employer or company on the profile are real. That is all it means.
- It does not mean we endorse the person, their work, or any offer they make you.
- It does not mean an opportunity they post is guaranteed, funded, or safe.
- Unverified is not suspicious. Most members simply haven't asked yet.
Scam patterns to know
Payment to get hired
No real employer asks for a fee, a deposit, or a 'training payment' before you start. If money moves from you to them, it is a scam.
Moving off the platform immediately
A first message that pushes you straight to a private channel and away from any verifiable identity is a warning sign. Keep early conversation here.
Documents up front
Passports, tazkira scans, and bank details are not screening material. Share them only with an organisation you have independently confirmed.
Urgency and secrecy
'Answer within an hour', 'don't tell anyone' — pressure exists to stop you checking. Slow down and check.
Reporting
Every profile, company and posting has a Report action. Choose a reason — spam, impersonation, harassment, scam, or something else — and add detail if you have it. Reports are private: the person you report is never told who reported them. Our team reviews the queue and can hide a posting or suspend an account.
Blocking
Blocking is immediate and needs no explanation. A blocked member cannot send you connection requests or introductions. You can unblock anyone from your settings.
Your own privacy
You choose whether your profile is public, visible to members only, or private. Only add a public email if you want strangers to use it. For members inside Afghanistan whose work carries risk: a headline and a city are enough — you do not have to publish an employer, a photo, or a full name to be findable.
